Your life depends on this!

In all your getting, get the Holy Spirit... "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18)

God has given us a wonderful companion. One who will never leave nor forsake us. This companion has an assignment to help, counsel, comfort, teach, lead into all truth, strengthen, revive and restore. He is meant to live in us, but we are expected to ask the Father to give Him to us.

Jesus said, “how much more will your Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.” Later, Jesus says that it is for our good that He goes away back to the Father, to enable the Father to send the Spirit to us. Peter says, this Holy Spirit is for us, for our children and for as many as the Lord our God will call. Paul tells us that we should be filled with the Holy Spirit and not be drunk with wine.

Earlier, Zerubbabel was told, “not by might nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord.” Godliness in our lives is only possible through the characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit. God has a lot prepared for those who love Him and it is the Spirit who brings to our awareness what is there in store for us. Through the same Spirit, God pours His love into our hearts. We are able to know God lives in us and us in Him only because He gives us His Spirit.

When the Spirit governs our minds we experience life and peace. Our freedom is dependent on the Spirit, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Our being changed into His likeness is as a result of the work of the Spirit. It is the Spirit who brings about our adoption to sonship whereby we cry Abba Father. He is the Spirit of resurrection whose presence in us guarantees our resurrection when that last trumpet shall sound.

The Spirit is the mark God is putting on every child of His, to guard us against all horrible things that are befalling the earth. And after all is said and done, it is written of Jesus that, He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

This year, make pursuit of the Spirit your main target. Your life depends on this. In all your getting, get the Holy Spirit. In all your breakthroughs, have a breakthrough into encountering the Holy Spirit. In all your revelations, have a full revelation of the Holy Spirit. In all your knowing get the full knowledge of the Holy Spirit. Be not drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Holy Spirit.
