The One God Is Still Looking For

It’s easy to feel small in a world of millions.

You scroll through crowds, sit in rooms full of people, blend into traffic and timelines - and start to wonder if your life really matters. Does God notice one among billions? Can one person really make a difference?

The answer, again and again in Scripture, is yes.

God isn’t looking for crowds. He’s looking for someone. In Ezekiel 22:30, God speaks heartbreaking words: “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap... but I found no one.”

There was a crisis. There was brokenness in the land. And God searched - not for an army, not for a perfect team, but for one person to stand in the gap. Someone to respond. Someone to say, “Here I am, Lord - use me.” But He found no one.

That line echoes through time like a challenge to each generation: Will you be the one?

God has always worked through individuals. He called Noah when the world was full of corruption. While others ignored the warnings, Noah found favor in God’s eyes. And because of his obedience, humanity was preserved.

He called Moses, even when the people of Israel were too afraid to meet with God themselves. Moses wasn’t perfect - he had doubts, a speech problem, a past - but he made himself available. And God revealed His ways to him.

He called Ananias in the book of Acts. A quiet man, not an apostle or preacher - just a disciple. But when God spoke his name, Ananias said yes, and his obedience changed Paul’s life forever.

This is how God moves. Not through crowds, but through willing hearts. You may feel unqualified. Maybe you’re thinking:

“I’m too old.”

“I’m too young.”

“I’ve messed up too much.”

“I don’t have the energy or skills.”

But God doesn’t call the most obvious candidates - He calls the available ones. And when He calls, He equips. Through His Spirit, what seems impossible becomes possible. What seems small becomes significant.

Will you do the one thing He’s placed in front of you today? God already knows your name, your gifts, your potential. He’s not waiting for perfection. He’s waiting for your yes.

One life. One yes. That’s all God needs to make a difference.
